It didn't work and subsequently I found an on-line video with step by step instructions clearing out various folders and files that worked great. I installed it per a suggestion of an apple support staff to get rid of what she thought was malware. Right click on these items inside the folders and move to trash. Preferences > Īfter update the new files that are found in system library. To enter in user library > click on Go > Go to folder & type ~/Libraryįind folders : Application support > MalwarebytesĬom.malwarebytes.Malwarebytes-xpc- service To enter in system library > click on Go > Go to folder & type /Libraryįind folders : Launch Daemons > Ĭlick on finder > Applications > right click on Malwarebytes Anti - Malware.app & move to trash, if it is in download folder, remove it from there also.

I give all that detail to tell you what I've done and what I've encountered so far. The old version has an uninstall option in its help menu and when I go to their website, it says to uninstall using this method. Activity monitor offers a couple of options: "Do you really want to quit this process" with the options Quit and Force Quit. I can find it as a resource called Frontendagent when I run activity monitor, but I can't stop or kill the process.
It loads everytime I restart though it doesn't appear as an auto load item in my user accounts. I can stop the main app, but the icon remains in my menu bar. With version 3 running, I can't find anyway to get rid of it. I have not run it in the background previously, only running it a couple of times in the past when I wanted to check on a potential problem. I had an older version of the program Malwarebytes installed on my MBP.
